So, i’m a little behind here, but I’m determined to finish this challenge !
Day 2: First memory of high school
Ok, to be honest, my very first memory of high school was sitting alone at lunch with carolynn by my side, and having a flock of birds poop on us. I’ve heard that it’s good luck to have birds poop on you, but in that moment in time, I just wanted to die and go home and never return to Saratoga. We went to the bathroom, QQed and cleaned up, and finished our lunch in the bathroom. Thankfully, by 2nd semester we had settled into high school and had stopped feeling so alone, so maybe the bird poop was good luck !
Day 3: Homecoming - What it meant to you and your memories of it
Homecoming was something that took me awhile to get into; freshman year I knew NOTHING about it, and by senior year I was participating in the dances and decorations. All I know is that this year was the year that we showed the school we had spirit and I’m so proud of our class spirit. Everyone really came together on this one to make it a homecoming to remember, and we definitely set the bar high for next years senior class to beat !
Day 4:The most trouble you’ve ever gotten into
Hmm … at school, I guess it would be trouble with my grades. lul 2nd semester junior year was just not the time to come down with mono.
Day 5: Your favorite teacher and how he/she has impacted you
My favorite teacher was Ms. Herzman. Although she was the cause of my late nights and qq’s thanks to journals during junior year, I have to admit she was the teacher that left most of an impact on me. When I was struggling junior year, she could tell that i was under a lot of stress and when i went in to talk to her about just school work, she seemed to take an interest in how i was mentally doing as well haha. She made me realize some values that are very important to me and I discovered a lot of things about myself through her teaching.
1. First thoughts on going to college
Hmm … well if I were to do my first thoughts, they’d be something like this:
IM SO EXCITED ! COLLEGE COLLEGE COLLEGE ! GET ME OUT OF CALIFORNIA ! I LOVE THIS ITS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!
Those were my very first thoughts, but that was before I gave thought to what college entailed. For me, next year is going to be a whirlwind of change. I’m possibly going to be permanently relocated to new york city, I’m leaving the state that I’ve lived in for all 18 years of my life, I’m leaving my family and friends as well as my love, and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m beyond excited to experience college, but at the same time, the time that I have left in high school seems to be ever dwindling and upon reflection, it just doesn’t seem to hold enough hours to do the things I want to do, see the people I want to see, and say the things I feel that i need to express. Ultimately, this period of my life, from now until I leave for the state of OK, is going to be so bittersweet. Never have I ever cried tears from missing somebody who is still next to me, never have I wanted there to be more days in the school year just so I won’t have to say goodbye to the familiarity of high school. College seems so daunting at the moment, and I’m not entirely sure i’m ready to embrace it with open arms, but I’m going to do my best.
